|Introduction to Butterworth Hall|
|Butterworth Hall is a feather in the Trustís cap.|
The Trust successfully negotiated its first project, Butterworth Hall. The lease of the building was given by Rochdale Council which also undertook to refurbish the building. This took two years and included replacement windows, rewiring, repairs to the roof and heating system. Further works carried out by the council resulted in new floor coverings and decorating.
Since the Trust took control of the building, it has been managed on its behalf by a committee composed of representatives form user groups and the Trust.
The building is entirely self supporting and operates without subsidy, although grants from the council and other funders have been obtained for improvement works.
